WELCOME!
HI, I'M DR. DONOVAN SMALLS II,
YOUR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP COACH.
With over a decade of experience as a teacher and leader, I’ve developed the skills and expertise needed to facilitate real learning and professional growth for aspiring school leaders. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Principal, Amazon Bestselling Author, and Chairperson and Executive Board Member of the New Jersey State Affiliate for the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE).
I earned my Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership & Management from Drexel University, a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from Virginia State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Exercise Science Teaching from The College of New Jersey, and a Business Management Essentials Certificate from Cornell University.
I founded Smalls Leadership Consulting LLC to help aspiring school leaders stop spinning their wheels and start positioning themselves for the leadership roles they deserve. Through direct coaching and real-world leadership strategy, I prepare future leaders to lead with confidence, clarity, and impact — before they even get the job.
I’ve helped educators sharpen their leadership presence, craft compelling leadership stories, and navigate the complex challenges of school leadership with purpose and precision.
